Responsibilities

• Partner with other data scientists to deliver the ongoing data science initiatives
• Build Machine Learning models to solve business problems
• Create a readable and comprehensive documentation of your work
• Implement new algorithms or tweak existing algorithms based on research papers
• Work on POCs to establish the feasibility of solving problems the existing team has not yet worked on

Qualifications and skills

• Persuing or just finished a degree in relevant quantitative field such as Statistics, Math, Computer Science or Data Science
• Familiarity with Data Science and Machine Learning techniques and concepts (e.g. regression, classification, loss functions, evaluation metrics, ensembles, cross validation)
• Hands-on knowledge of Python and data science / ML packages
• Familiarity with SQL – any hands on experience is a big plus
• Familiarity with Spark or any other big data processing framework is a plus
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Strong understanding of Statistics, Linear Algebra and Calculus
• Ability to implement new algorithms from research papers
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn new tools and techniques to get things done
